AutoCAD 2023 - Point Filters Pauses/Hangs AutoCAD on Move command

When using Point filters with the move command the program will Pause/Hang.  These steps worked perfectly for the last 10 or so versions of AutoCAD. I tried both command line and using the "Shift-Right Click menu" and they both hang.

  • Move
  • Select a Object
  • Select a Base Point

Now I want to filter out coordinates for my destination.

  • Type  .XY
  • Type NONE
  • Type @

Now the program hangs on (need Z)

If I hold shift with will resume but the command history states

>>Enter new value for OORTHOMODE <0>:

Then the commands will continue as normal and work.

Try it with your RUNNING OSNAPS OFF.

(And I'm not familiar with the NONE step..

i do the first 3 commands, right click pick xy with the @ symbol right after and its looking for Z.)

Tried with both on and off - still the same.

Tried with brand a new drawing with just two lines and still  hangs.

I also tried with out the NONE command using your steps and it still hangs until I hold SHIFT for a few seconds.

WHEN YOU say "hangs".  do you mean you can try to select a Z plane and it wont respond?  its stuck there?

what happens if you DO pick a location?  or it wont let?   try the @ again just to shake it up.  meaning the @ would be used twice.

All of AutoCAD stop working the mouse movement freezes and you can do any inputs but "Esc" will stop the command and "Shift" will force it to continue to ru.

Thanks for taking the time to review this with me.

Have you installed the 2023.1 Update yet? ABOUT command will confirm what you have installed. If not, get it from your Autodesk Account Page here https://manage.autodesk.com/cep/#products-services/updates
Restart your PC afterwards.

If that did not help... Set GFXDX12 variable to 0 (that's a zero) then restart AutoCAD: does that HELP?

You can also start a support ticket through your subscription portal as explained here https://knowledge.autodesk.com/customer-service/account-management/users-software/support-options#:~....

I did find something interesting out this morning.

These filters work fine:

.YZ

.XZ

These filters cause AutoCAD to hang:

.XY

.Z
