AutoCAD 2022 don't print on HP Plotter

Installed AutoCAD 2022 with migrating and transfer custom setting from previous version, everything work fine. Print ok on small printer but does not work on HP Designjet T2300 (just nothing happen don't even shown preview)

When I need to print on this plotter I have to run the previous AutoCAD version.

Anyone run into this problem?

Thanks

That ^^^^ is generally considered a poor option. Why? Because it not only brings over any good stuff, but all the bad stuff too. Like pointers to non-existent things, etc.

Having said that, that may not have anything to do with this issue. So can you print to PDF using one of the built-in PDF drivers, and then open the PDF in your choice of PDF apps, and print to the T2300 from there, using the Windows driver?

I'm not sure why Autodesk even bothers with enabling printing directly to hardware anymore. Printing to PDF is almost foolproof, then you can do whatever you want with that PDF. Store it, email it, print it, etc. Trying to marry the CAD app to a hard copy printer has so many points of failure.

Hi R.K. McSwain, I don't have any problem printing from PC to this HP T2300 except AutoCAD 2022.

PDF or any older AutoCAD version are no problem at all.

Awesome, so print to PDF, then open the PDF and print to the T2300.

Problem Solved 😉

I've been printing with AutoCAD for 28 years, so I can assure you I understand printing in AutoCAD, which is exactly why I'm giving you the best option with the least options for problems.

You are free to do what you want of course. Have you opened a support ticket with Autodesk?

    • Here are the various Autodesk support offerings. You may need to be logged into your Autodesk Account in order to see an accurate list of the options available to you.

You never mention it:
1) are you plotting to a PC3 file or the same exact Windows based driver in Windows like all the other programs on your PC do.
2) Can you print/plot to other devices and it all works fine too, or just this device?
3) Is the driver server based or locally installed? How are you connected to the plotter?

First thank you for your comment, little background of myself I have been using AutoCAD since 1985. Anyway the current PC is over 4 years old and have AutoCAD versions 2018, 2020, 2021 and 2022 installed just couple weeks ago. Like I said don’t have any printing problem with any older CAD versions or any other software. To answer your question:

  1. With 2022 version plot ok on HP T2300 with PC3’s driver but not windows based driver. (for some reason PC3 driver for this HP disappear when next time plot command use ( I still see PC3 of other printers)
  2. I can plot to other printers using windows based driver without any problem
  3. All my printers connected thru network using IP address.

1) interesting problem: do you have the 2022.0.1 update installed? We do. We have the HP T930 here and have no issues plotting to it (IP Address) from our test rigs of AutoCAD2022. Since the PC3 files are nothing more than pointers to the system drivers, I wonder if you have something else going on.
Is the Windows driver just not showing up as an option, or is it just processing?
Have you down a 2022 reset yet (and this time avoid all migration from an older version for now) to test again?

@Anonymous Pretty much the majority of users replying to posts in these forums have used the product since the 1980s-1990s. And honestly (without insult) no one really cares, we all have problems we can never figure out on our own and need to ask for help from others.
