Problem
AutoCAD 2019 displays blank/white screen on startup, unable to interact with the program and must terminate acad.exe from Task Manager
Background
Computer is in a secure environment that has no connection to the internet, but files/updates can be transferred to it as needed.
OS is Win7 x64 with SP1, UAC disabled, .NET v4.8, latest video drivers taken from the Certified Graphics drivers on Autodesk (NVIDIA Quadro K2200 385.90).
All installs were from a local Administrator account. AutoCAD2018 was already installed/activated and successfully runs. AutoCAD 2019 was then installed and activated. It was upgraded to 2019.0.1 then 2019.1.0, successfully running after each update. After updating to 2019.1.1, the white screen problem started, and updating to 2019.1.2 did not help. Installing the 2019.1.2 Combo Security Hotfix caused AutoCAD2019 to appcrash on startup (program: acad.exe and module: C:\Windows\system32\KERNELBASE.dll).
Even tried installing AutoCAD 2020 but that also has the same white screen issue.
Attempted Solutions
- Repaired AutoCAD install(s) from Add/Remove Programs
- Reset AutoCAD settings from “Reset Settings to Default” app
- Added /nohardware flag to startup
- Uninstalled video driver (just for testing, later reinstalled)
- Reinstalled 2018/2019 after clearing %TEMP% folder each time
None of those attempts above had any impact on the issue. At a loss right now, could there be a Windows Update that would help (would need KB #)?
