AutoCAD 2019, 2022, 2024 - DWG File opens a new instance of AutoCAD but doesn't open the DWG file.

Whenever I go to open a drawing from the DWG file, it opens a new instance of AutoCAD and only to the main menu of the program. Despite having an already opened AutoCAD and the SDI set to 0 per the solution recommendations.

I've also tried setting the default file extension to open in AutoCAD 2019, the AutoCAD DWG Launcher, and the same thing happens. A new instance of the program launches but the drawing doesn't open. Any suggestions and assistance would be greatly appreciated!

These are the links to the help pages that I've used so far in my troubleshooting:
Unable to open dwg attachment via email directly. (autodesk.com)
Double-clicking a DWG file fails to start AutoCAD (autodesk.com)
Double-clicking a DWG file opens it in the wrong AutoCAD instance (autodesk.com)

The only thing I haven't done is to try re-installing the software as the last time this was done, the fix only lasted for a day before becoming an issue again.

Hi,

>"Any suggestions and assistance would be greatly appreciated! "

Just the same you can read in your links.

.dwg (and others) extensions link to aclauncher.exe

doubleclick to a .dwg

make sure SDI=0 in this instance

close

doubleclick to a .dwg from explorer

If it is still not working.

Admin rights, deinstall and install new - the newest version.

Questions: Does it work well inside AutoCAD?

Open your product, use OPEN command to open two ore more .dwg files. Does it work?
