AutoCad 2018/Windows 10 - Zoom Window Jumping after Hatch or Block Edit

Running AutoCad2018 on Windows 10

Two part issue:
We are experiencing issues in model space.  If we are working in a particular area and then need to A) Edit a block or B) add hatch, AutoCAD will jump the view to A) 0,0 or B) to some random place far away from where we are working.

I have tried using "Z", "P" (zoom pervious) though these commands have to entered several times before returning to the location we were working in.

Has anyone found a solution that allows us to stay zoomed into the area we were working, prior to the Hatch command or post block editing?

Second Issue:
After editing a block not only is the screen re-centered to 0,0 we are also experiencing poor performance after any adjustments made to a block.  The only solution is to purge the job, close AutoCAD and Restart.  This sometimes works.

Both conditions are time consuming work arounds and not solutions.  Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Is your AutoCAD up to version 2018.1.2?
R2018 is not new, is this a sudden new problem? Or a problem on a new PC? or something else change?

Hi @Namth,

Please check to see that your applicatoin, OS and Graphjics drivers are all up-to-date.

Then, when working in BlockEditor, try using Save Block before exiting the editor.

On this computer this is a fresh install running product version: O.49.0.0 AutoCAD 2018

This issue is also occurring on another machine running Windows 7, running the same product version.

I tried the save block vs just closing the block.  That does not affect the jumping around, though it may have resolved the reduced performance.

Any suggestions on why the zoom is jumping back to 0,0 with block editing and jumping to Zoom extents after Hatch editing?  (no indication is found in the F2 command history)

I didn't notice the issue until I received this new machine, though it appears to be a problem throughout the office, including machines running windows 7.

All machines are running version O.49.0.0 AutoCAD 2018

I will attempt to attach a example file.

All machines are running Windows 7 or Windows 10, with AutoCAD version: O.49.0.0 AutoCAD 2018

Here is an example file with a block and something to hatch.  You will notice that any edits to the block re-center the model space to 0,0 and any attempt to hatch will re-center to, zoom extents.

Let me know if you have any suggestions, please.

Hi @Namth,

Please apply the updates for AutoCAD 2018 from your account page or from the Autodesk Desktop App.  My updated version is O.161.0.0 AutoCAD 2018.1.2 Update.

Note:

When I move the geometry to a new drawing file, none of this behavior is exhibited.

In certain cases i have seen that the variable UCSFOLLOW causes unexpected zoom/view changes. (mostly with using the controls to change views.)

Set UCSFOLLOW to 0 and see if the viewchanges still occur.
