AutoCAD 2018 Update 2018.1.2 display problem

Installed AutoCAD 2018 Update 2018.1.2. In 3d Modeling, working with a point cloud and having it sliced with Section Plane the pline I am drawing does not follow the crosshair but is of center. Zooming in and out makes the pline jump over the screen and it does not stay in place. Selecting the handles is painstaking. The pointed line is the actual line, the continuous one is the line that jumps back and forward on the screen.

Other problem is when hitting the house button top-left from the view cube my screen background turned light grey. Orbit flipped the screen background back and forward from dark grey (my settings) to light grey. Zooming has the same effect. Lost this by inserting the drawing in a new empty drawing.

Can't work with point cloud in a reliable way anymore.

Working with Windows 10, NVidia Quadro P5000, AutoCAD 2018.1.2, monitor Dell 22"

How can I remove this update and restore the previous version?

Or is there an other solution?

you can uninstall the update from control panel.

what happens if you turn off hardware acceleration, does it make a difference?

Review the README document with that update: you most likely need updated video card drivers at a minimum (I suspect NVidia may not have it yet)

Christopher,

I am working with Point Clouds. As you surely know Point Clouds don't show when hardware acceleration is off so that's no option.

In the previous update of AutoCAD 2018 all was working well. After the update to day it got worse.

Dean,

I am working with the latest NVidia Qaudro driver 391.03, release date may 2, 2018. And to be frank a NVidia Quadro P5000 certified by Autodesk itself and this would be the problem?

In the previous AutoCAD 2018 update all worked well. This update 2018.1.2 is making it looks awful.

If there will be problems ahead with new software releases why can't there be a build in control that warns the user the driver he/she is using does not compare with the new update before installing using the desktop app?

Being a AutoDesk client from 1986 onward I don't like these surprises every time.

I seriously doubt the 2018.1.2 from this week is included in any certification from Nvidia or Autodesk just yet.

Roll back to 2018.1.1 and test R2019 when it shows up in your subscription account to see if the bugs added into 2018.1.2 got fixed.

As you know already, Autodesk kicks out software updates (and software packages) with some testing but they can't test fully except after release. Pretty much like all other software vendors, world-wide audience usage in production is the only thing to guarantee flaws exposure.

Good luck.

OK, I installed the Autodesk Building Suite Premium from scratch. It wouldn't roll back. Revit and 3ds max work after asking me the serial number.

AutoCAD gives the warning: Problem loading acadres.dll resource file and then nothing.

Can someone shine a light on this pleace?

OK, uninstalled AutoCAD 2018 again. Restarted the workstation and reinstalled AutoCAD 2018 ones again. And it is working now after asking my license number.

So now I won't install the latest update.

Today March 28, 2018 I installed the latest NVidia Quadro display driver 391.33 and again installed the AutoCAD 2018 update 2018.1.2.

All seems to work well now.

Almost one year after we subscription (or how it is called today) owners have received 2018 for the first time it can be put into action without falling back on the 2017 version.
