AutoCAD 2018 new features

I just installed Autocad 2018 and watched the new feature video.

I just want to resume them all in one word:

NOTHING!

It's really a shame. I don't understand why I have to pay every year to maintain the subscription to have absolutely nothing new.

Shame shame shame!

Where in the world are you, that you have access to AutoCAD 2018?

No word on it in the US at this time.

Interesting. Thanks.

There is a post on it from Australia here:

The company I work for got an email as well this morning and we saw that the standalone licenses of AutoCAD had 2018 available, but the Civil 3D and the Autodesk suite were still only 2017.

I got an email link this morning as well, but I haven't installed it yet.  I did notice that it says 5.2GB on the download page, but the files downloaded are only 1.96GB and 320MB.

I just got my download link today as well, so no new features?

I haven't seen any new features on mine either. I was really hoping Autodesk would have added something.

Hi @rkmcswain,

Yes, AutoCAD 2018 is available for download publicly with future updates available in your account and in the Autodesk Desktop App.

[Edit] Update 0.1 is now available for Subscription customers. 22 March 2017

I only see update 1.1 to the Beta.

Has the update been to the final product been made available yet?

Drafting is a breeze and Revit doesn't always work the way you think it should.

It is slowly going out to all users starting today: you will eventually have it this week or next at the latest.

Hi @Anonymous,

I too don't see the update yet. I had been informed that it would be up right away but as of yet it hasn't appeared. I apologize for the confusion. I will research when this will be available and add a post.

There are several new things.

For me the SHX recognition and Xref link handling will be excellent once we get the distro pushed through.

I understand though not every one will need what gets added with each update.

If there is something in particular you would like to see done you can help influence the next release in several ways:

general feedback

I received the email with my new SN and product key for AutoCAD 2018 but it is not showing up on my account downloads or on my Autodesk desktop app. On both only up to 2017 is available. Is there anywhere else to download it from? I tried the Autodesk website but only 2017 is available there.

I see the 2018 download at the trial link on the AutoCAD program page: if you don't, you'll have to give the WWW time to spread the word, it's fast but it's not instant for everyone on the planet.
