AutoCAD 2018 Hangs on Startup Tab

One of my users complained that he had lost his customisation and access to certain files.

I was in a bit of a rush, so to get him started, just setup some standard locations in the Support File Search Paths.  When I restarted AutoCAD, it seemed to launch correctly and pick up a license etc., but finally it just hung on the Startup tab.

It looked like the vanilla product out of the box, but hung at the point where user action is needed to select or create a drawing.  The initial limited menu options were there, but none of those responded to a click.

Anyone know what is going on here?  I was thinking I might have input a non-existent file path and it was searching, but a) I don't think it is possible to input a location that doesn't exist and b) if it did accept an invalid entry, I would just expect a folder not found error or some such.

Any insight appreciated.

Thanks

Phil

Hi @Phil,

If you perform a RESET Settings to Default does this allow the program to start up properly? Or, if you log on as a different user does this work? It is possible that the user profile has some corruption.

Brilliant Thanks John

Yes I could log on as another user fine, it was just this guy's profile.

Used your "Reset Settings to Default" solution, then re-imported customisations.

Job's a good un.

Appreciate the prompt help

Phil
