AutoCad 2018 crash after print Xerox 6204 in Windows 10

Hi, since I upgraded to Windows 10,

I'm having problems printing files in AutoCAD with the xerox 6204 printer.

When I print, it deletes the file and exits the program and then prints it but deletes the file when I exit.

I guess it's a problem with the drivers. Someone has been the same?

I have read similar forums but no solution has been successful for me

Hi @Anonymous,

I see that you are visiting as a new member to the AutoCAD forum. Welcome to the Autodesk Community!

Printer drivers can be a painful thing to sort out at times.

I would verify that you have the most current driver from Xerox for this printer in a Windows 10 environment. I suggest trying a PCL5 or PCL6 driver first if that works in your environment.

Then, test printing to the new printer driver from another Windows application to make sure that it is working properly.

Then, in AutoCAD, print to the new driver as a Windows System Printer.  You will see your Xerox listed in the Device name field and it will not have a PC3 extension on the name.

Please let me know if this works up to this point. If so, we can create a new PC3 for you. If not we will dig in a bit deeper.

Please also tell me if you have BlueBeam installed. I have seen several issues lately where it seems to be causing a problem.

Thanks for answering. I have tried with all the drivers, the problem is that universal controllers are not worth me since they do not let me choose the paper size. I have tried with the last existing driver that according to the official page is compatible with windows 10 but it does not work. If I print from another application such as PDF can work, the problem is that I need to print from Autocad because they are very long prints. The problem is when I use autocad I have already tried to create the new pc3, that does not seem to be the solution because crash too and delete the file. I don't have BlueBeam  installed

HI @Anonymous,

In AutoCAD, do not create a PC3 for now. Try printing to the system printer. Does that fail too?

I have tried finding a driver for this device from Xerox and the only that is shown is very old (2010). It does list Windows 10 compatibility but I can't even get it to install in my Windows 10 environment in order to test it.

No, If I print in other application I don't have trouble.

Only in Autocad.

Yes, this is the trouble, the driver is very old.. I am doing tests in virtual machines and in windows 7 it works perfectly with the shared printer from windows 10. I mean in windows 10 I have the printer and I share and run the autocad in windows 7 and print by the shared printer windows 10 that is where it closes automatically..

Only crash in windows 10.. but is the same print in windows 7 and it works..

HI @Anonymous,

I suggest that you contact Xerox Support to see if they can make any recommendations of settings within their driver to get this  working.

Have you tried the Postscript version of their driver? I have actually had better success with the PS driver in the past.

I have spoken with xerox, but the machine is old and they ask me for the serial number of the machine and when I give it to them, they tell me they do not exist and they can not help me without that code .. I'll try the ps driver
