AutoCAD 2017 without Cloud or Outside cimmunicatins

I work in an environment where there can be no outside connections from our CAD Stations.

In developing my install deployments I have been un-selecting everything that has anything to do with cloud use.

Also hacking the ini files to remove any calls for Adsync, etc.

Even with doing all of that there are many pieces that get installed anyway that I then must go back and un-install.

I also have a custom CUI that does not load the A360 menu.

However, there is a data collection pieces that is being installed that needs to be off by default.

When a user first launches AutoCAD 2017 they are presented with the dialog box below informing them of this data collection.

So they have to go to the Help menu to turn this off.

I need this to be the default so that users do not have to do this at all.

Here is an article on how to turn Desktop Analytics on/off manually. I am reaching out internally to see if I can give you more on how to disable before the user sees it.

Thanks for the info and trying to follow up.

I went to the link but it is basically is stating what I had already shown in this thread (manual method).

I am hope that like the Start Tab, this can be accomplished with a reg key edit.

To make the Start Tab not be there for users I have exported the reg key that sets it to off.

So when I upgrade the stations I will import that key after installation.

If this is also controlled by a specific reg key then I can do that for this as well.

Hi @tahdesign1,

Try this and let me know if it behaves the way you want. To disable ADP for all Autodesk products (not just AutoCAD),

(at your own risk) edit HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Autodesk\MC3\MC3Enabled and set to 0 in order to disable ADP.

Yes I did go to that key and change it to a 0.

Actually that is a sub-key of MC3. So I had to exported the whole MC3 key with the MC3Enabled sub-key set to 0.

So now as I develop and test my deployments, I will use that export key to set this before first running the software.

Hopefully this solves my issue.

Just another piece in all of the various pre and post setups I'm having to do to try and make my deployment as cloudless as possible.

I know the vast majority of users don't mind the cloud but there are those of us out here that will never be able to.

For me it is dictated by our parent company (non-us) and the fact that we also do some DOD work.

I'm sure I am not the only one out here in the situation but I know we are in the minority.

But that being said, I did sit in a round table discussion on the cloud use issue last year at AU.

Within that group there were probably only 20 some companies represented.

Of that 20 some at 2 of us said we could never use it.
