AutoCAD 2017 - Wipeout Lag Bug

In AutoCAD 2017, when moving, copying, drawing, etc. over a wipeout with many vertices, the program completely bogs down and becomes unresponsive for several minutes.  This behavior is similar to what was experienced in AutoCAD 2015 and 2016 with dense hatches and may be related, but I did not experience this problem with wipeouts in either 2015 or 2016.

In the attached drawing, try to move or copy the line to the right through the areas with the circles (where the vertices are densest).  Be prepared to hit the ESC key a dozen times unless you have time to wait.

Work:  AutoCAD 2022.1.3, Windows 10 Pro v22H2 64-bit, Intel Core i7-8700K, 32GB RAM, Samsung 960 Pro SSD, AMD Radeon Pro WX 5100, 3 Dell Monitors (3840x2160)
Home: AutoCAD 2022.1.3, Windows 10 Pro v22H2 64-bit, Intel Core i7-11700, 64GB RAM, Samsung 980 Pro SSD, NVIDIA Quadro P2200, Dell Monitor (3840x2160)

@elshawadfy

Thanks for offering your workaround.  My workaround is to toggle OSNAPs off temporarily.  F3 is mapped to the back button on my mouse, so it's easy, as long as I remember to do it.

I wouldn't say it's weak graphics capabilities though.  The problem doesn't exist on the same system with AutoCAD 2016, and both AutoCAD 2016 and 2017 use the new graphics system (along with 2015).

The computer I'm using at the moment has the weakest graphics Card there is 🙂 (gt 220), & AutoCAD 2016 ,, same prob.. (I mean it's not a version issue most likely - we have different AutoCAD versions, but weak VGA)

The workaround I offered may be more comforting to you, because you'll do it only once, and reverse it only before publishing.. all the remaining time you're working freely, and without the risk of losing presision accidently..

At the end, you're the one suffering with the file, so what ever works best for you Smiley Happy
