Hi!

I am trying to edit some text in autocad but it’s giving me a very thin vertical brown line at the beginning of the text instead of having the whole text with a brown background. so I can’t edit. I can’t place the cursor in the middle of the sentence or anywhere.

Can you advise please ?

See attached picture. look to the right of the text, and you will see the very thin brown line.

Hi @blfreilich,

This looks pretty weird. Is there something unusual in the text style? Are the fonts being utilized by the style actually installed? Please attach a drawing with this problem (and any associated fonts). I am happy to look into this issue for you.

I don't get this problem in English only in a foreign language.

Hi @blfreilich,

Do you mean a localized version of AutoCAD (such as German or Dutch)? Or, are you using a language pack? Please describe in more detail how your AutoCAD environment is set up and please  do also include a drawing. If I can't duplicate it on my workstation I can ask my German counterpart to give it a try.

Hi @blfreilich,

Until I can figure out what is going on with the text, I was able to make changes by rt-clicking it and going into properties. From there I can go into the Contents field and make changes.

It's Hebrew.
I attached a photo in the first post, and recently uploaded the actual dwg
file.
I added the language to the regular English (USA) Autocad 2016.

ok, that works for you, but not for me as I get gibberish instead of the
Hebrew in the Text / contents field.

Get the Etransmit from the author, this drawing needs a bunch of fonts.

I have etransmit. But when I click on it I get a message " you need to save this as a dwg file before continuing with etransmit". Weird, because it IS saved as a dwg file. Please help.

Hi @blfreilich,

I am unsure why you are being prompted to save the file.

Here are the font files that are required in the drawing if you want to just ZIP them up manually for me.

I get a message when saving "one or two objects in this drawing cannot be saved in the specified format. The operation was not completed and the file was not saved." Please guide me how to do send you the fonts?

That is normal for etransmit, it asks you to save it.

Make sure before zip the file to do etransmit, check the box Autocad fonts map.
