AutoCAD 2017 Proxy Graphics

Hi all

I've recently upgraded to Auto CAD 2017, ever since that I cannot create new viewport scales, drawing units box looks simplified,

and most drawings open up asking if I want proxy graphics displayed etc

It's almost as if I don t have the full package installed, could anyone help please?

you wrote ( ..most drawings open up asking if I want proxy graphics displayed )  you can change PROXYNOTICE system variable to (0).

Welcome to the Autodesk Community!

Here is a link to an AKN Article that describes the features of the Units Dialog. You should also be aware that there is the -DWGUNITS command. Use -DWGUNITS to set the units and most of the time, accept the option to sync and have INSUNITS match. This way there is no units discrepancy and you can expect the best results.

To fix the Proxy Graphics pop up, rather than turn it off, install the Object Enablers that will let you view the objects created in the vertical. The enablers can be downloaded here.

Did you forget to install the needed Object Enablers in 2017 that you used to have in the older version you gave up? Grab them here https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/downloads

Hello, and thank you for replying, I have tried the PROXYNOTICE command and seems to have worked, this is the box I get for my units

in my previous versions of AutoCAD it just seemed more intricate with more drop down menus, regarding the issue with my Viewport scales, when I click to create a custom scale, no message appears, it just freezes for a few seconds.

Thank you, i'll download that now, I was unaware of this, as in previous versions

the software was automatically supplied to myself from my company.

Whereas now a different IT supplier installed it, thanks for your help!
