AutoCAD 2016 Problems loading drawing

I have worked on the drawing all morning, saved the drawing and sutdown AutoCAD.

Came back after lunch opend AutoCAD and the relevant drawing, the drawing starts to load and hangs after 49% of the drawing is loaded, let=ft the drawing loading for 30mins but still at 49%.

The drawing is made up of quite a few X-REFS and all but one loads in to AutoCAD, one, however, seems to hang so i assume that this on is the problem.

Is there any way of extracting the damaged X-REF from the drawing?

Can any one help me?

Regards

Start AutoCAD alone, then use RECOVER command to open the damaged file (or use RECOVERALL command on the top most file).

Open a blank empty file and see if INSERT command will let you get it all.
