Autocad 2015 - Plubin not loading into project

Autocad 2015 - Plubin not loading into project

So I have an issue with a specific plugin I am trying to get to work to no avail. The plugin is AutoCAD Architecture-MEP 2015 Object Enabler. I have downloaded the plugin, maybe I am missing on how to install it. I have made sure my autodesk content service is running. Any help would be appreciated.

When I load the project it is not listed under the addin tab.

I have made sure that I am installing the object enabler for autocad 2015 english, not just downloading it. I am sure it is not working because I am still getting the "using proxy objects" message when loading my project on autocad 2015.

Hi,

>> I have downloaded the plugin

How did you download it (using which software) and how is the file named you have downloaded? If it's just an EXE file or an MSI file then you have to double click it to get installed.

If it's installed or not can only be seen within the Windows control panel ==> programs and functions.

>> When I load the project it is not listed under the addin tab.

The object enabler does not have any commands, so it is not listed anywhere within AutoCAD as "real" apps are.

It just loaded and hidden and gets active when you open drawings with objects from ACA/MEP.

Thanks for the reply,

So I have made sure it is installed, it is listed under my programs and features. I have also uninstalled and re-installed. I downloaded the object enabler through autodesk's website, the link;

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/downloads/caas/downloads/content/autocad-architecture...

I also now understand that it won't show up under apps. I have several DWG files that include MEP objects that when I load the project I recieve a message telling me that I have opened a drawing containing custom objects created by an unavailable ObjectARX application and directs me to download an object enabler.

Hi,

Ok, that message only appears when sysvar PROXYNOTICE is set to 1.

If you have installed that object enabler you should not get that message ... or this drawing was created with a newer version of ACA or MEP. So as you are working based on release 2015 you might get the info if the file you open was created by ACA/MEP 2016 or 2017.

The most important part may be: in some cases you don't need an object enabler, even if the system tells you that it needs it.
If you see all objects, then all is ok.

If you miss some objects then you might ask the creator of that file that he/she uses command -EXPORTTOAUTOCAD to save his project file as DWG without containing ACA/MEP specific objects.

I have a coworker also using these drawings with 2015, he does not have the same issues as me. I'm not 100% sure I am able to get a hold of the creator to use the command -EXPORTTOAUTOCAD.

Is there a way I can check to see if the object enabler is working/installed/enabled or at least being loaded with my version of autocad?

Which issues do you have? Just to see the message that an objects enabler might be installed is not an issue, that might be a different setting of PROXYNOTICE or your coworker may have AutoCAD Architecture or AutoCAD MEP?

If it is installed it works (by default).

I have not verified that, just an idea (as long as you are really sure about you and your coworker do have the same product): load this drawing that brings up the proxy-notice-dialog, then start command _APPLOAD and compare the list of loaded applications (compare the DBX files) with the same list from your coworker.

The issue is that I'm not able to see the full drawings, many objects are missing. My coworker is using autocad 2015 and the MEP object enabler i have listed above. His drawings are showing full drawings.

Where are the DBX files located?

Hi,

>> Where are the DBX files located?

I don't have the object enabler installed, but you can look to the system of your coworker, so you can find it out by yourself?

Can you

  • show the drawing
  • show the screenshot how the drawing looks like on your system
  • show the screenshot how the drawing looks like on the coworkers system

And just to make sure:

Can you both (you and your coworker) start command _ABOUT and show that screenshots from this dialog too (if there is a serial number, then mask it before uploading the images). I guess there are product differences.
