AutoCAD 2011 Visual Style Issue

Hi guys,

I'm having an issue with my auto cad that whenever I change the visual style to shaded or shaded with edges auto cad crashed immediately and gives an error report of "FATAL ERROR: Unhandled Access violation Reading 0x0000 Exception at 3c701a00h"

Hi,

try to change the type of hardware acceleration (if you have more than one) or turn some options in the dialog off or turn the hw-acceleration generally off, does that help?

Yes this did help on any of my new drawings, thank you. But the oddest thing is only a few select drawings still crash even after the changes. The problem may be some of the solids may have something wrong with them.

I suggest that you run an Audit and Purge on the files that are having problems. You are welcome to attach some to a post so i can take a look too.

Thank you for welcoming me. I tried the Audit and Purge commands and they unfortunately didn't help, all though I did figure out the issue. When the 3D Solid's history was left on, it would crash. I tested it by turning off the history and now it does not crash. Thank you though for your help

can you upload such a file before you changed SOLIDHIST? So we can look into that file and verify if we crash too?
