Auto Cad 2006 not run to Windows 10

Good afternoon. We are from the Santa Irreverencia Architecture and tend to upgrade on one of our Windows equipment from XP to Windows 10 (both original licenses) and after that, we reinstalled Autocad 2006 which worked normally on Windows XP. But after that, Autocad passed to run only with a administrator profile, with no user profile Default it did not run and neither is it error. Please advise us how to solve this problem, in the profile of users in our equipment can not be administrator.

Hi @financeiro,

I see that you are visiting as a new member to the AutoCAD forum. Welcome to the Autodesk Community!

Unfortunately, you are trying to run AutoCAD 2006 in an Operating System that it is not designed in which to work.  Here are the system requirements for your AutoCAD 2006.

You have a couple of options. First, you can put Windows XP back into the computers and stick with that as that is the most current OS that AutoCAD 2006 is designed to work on.  Otherwise, you might consider upgrading to current AutoCAD (2018).

Here is a link to a TRIAL if you want to give that a try for 30 days.

Your version of AutoCAD is not supported in Win10 as explained here http://autode.sk/1IY4C2X

For most users these free tips help a lot http://www.howtogeek.com/228689/how-to-make-old-programs-work-on-windows-10/

For others they purchase a fix from these folks http://www.longbowsoftware.com

As far as Autodesk is concerned, you will need to subscribe to a newer version of AutoCAD.

Hope these help.

Hi,

if you don't update AutoCAD then don't update the operating system.

(sometimes I compare that situation with using a turbo motor from 2017 into a carriage from 1850)

I'm surprised that you have got it running even if admin permission is necessary, but every Windows 10 update can stop your AutoCAD 2006 from working again.

Either update AutoCAD ... or as alternative use a virtual system like Oracle Virtual Box or VmWare with XP as operating system. So you can stay at Windows 10 with your primary system.

This article and link were excellent and enabled me to open my 2006 version in W10 and not have to buy a new one.  All I have to do now is to add the Activation Code once I find out how to do it as this facility does not seem to be available on my copy which has now been changed to a Trial Version ..........

In the WINDOW Start Menu (old computer) you should find a License Transfer Utility.

Yep, hat would be fine if, thro' my playing with the house wiring with
the computer on, I hadn't corrupted the HD and had to replace it.
