Auto Axis

1 Mapping using a TGA file

2 Using the Adjust Bitmap dialogue, older releases had an Auto Axis option (eg R14)

which greatly helped the appearance of the bump map

3 The Auto Axis was On or OFF

4 Auto Axis does not exist in later releases eg 2007 onwards

5 What replaces the Auto Axis

Thanks for reply

Auto Axis is not an add on -it was part of the Adjust Bitmap dialogue when attaching a TGA bump map

It allowed the user to display the bump map all surfaces or selected surfaces

I used it in R14 but it is not available from R2007 onwards

I think that Planar Mapping does the same, but I find Planar difficult to use

I am a retired CAD lecturer and used first AutoCAD in 1984 - Release 2.6

Ta for reply

Thanks for reply and the dialogue image with Auto Axis

I am a retired CAD lecturer started in 1984 with R2,6

Have used R14 which was the best but it is long lost

I am looking over my Render material - hence the Auto Axis question

From R2007 it is no longer available and I thing Planar mapping is meant to be used
