Attempting to move a block slows performance down, and "dashes" every line in the block?

Here is the context: I am working in a DWG where I 'blocked' several pieces of equipment. Each piece of equipment is ~20,000 objects. I can easily move these blocks around the model space, but my colleague who is working in the same file cannot. Whenever they try to manipulate the block in anyway (move/rotate/etc) their machine slows down to a unworkable snail's pace. Strangely whenever they try, it looks like AutoCAD is trying to set all 20,000 objects' linetype to "dashed". See images below:

One of the blocks normally / not being touched:

The block as soon as it's manipulated:

Setting DRAGMODE to OFF fixes the problem, but they really need the preview. I have DRAGMODE set to ON, and I dont have any problems with these blocks whatsoever. On my machine, it also doesnt try to "dash-ify" all the block's objects. I assume it's a setting my colleague has turned on, which I must have off- but I cannot think of what that setting would be. Does anyone know what is causing this slowdown for them, but not for me?

The 20000 content is too complex for your PC's hardware/video abilities, that's why it crawls with the preview/dragmode on.

Moving smaller numbers at a time is one option, you seem to have discovered another option, typing your intended final move distance using direct-distance-entry would help (and eliminates the need for you to watch the content drag along your screen.

Ensuring your AutoCAD is fully updated, it's using compatible video drivers, and perhaps tapping GRAPHICSCONFIG command to try different settings may help it all too.

This helps me. I use the GRAPHICSCONFIG command and turn on the graphic accelerator and it  works.

Thanks
