Array path - how to correctly set up the distance between?

Hi there!

I'd like to do array path and then change the distance between objects to a different number. Here's my process:

1. I run array path and set the distance between rectangles to 550.

2. Now I'd like to have the same array but starting from a midpoint of my rectangle. Usually I can half the distance between - which will create a new set of rectangles exactly where I want them - however then I need to manually delete the 'original' set of rectangles:

My friend is using Autocad 2023, and she doesn't have to delete the original set; the moment she changes the distance number, it looks straight away correct. Any idea how can I do the same in Autocad 2022 please?

Many thanks in advance!

Hi, thanks for your quickly reply! Yes it is associative; if I make it non-associative, all the rectangles become individual objects straight after, which means I can't alter it again (and put a reduced distance).

Could it be you just want to change the basepoint?

I tried that but I don't get a clean geometry as a result. Changing the distance gives me what I want, it's just very laborious to do the manual deleting after...
