AutoCAD includes hatch patterns like: ANSI31, ANSI32.

What is the name of the ANSI standard that these patterns come from?

Hi,

Autocad supports a variety of hatch patterns.every hatch pattern is composed of once or more hatch lines.

ANSI it's a brief for ( American National Standards Institute ) and it's define hatch patterns that come with autocad. it's a standards that made and prepared through a PAT file.

Butt, the question is, which ANSI standard defined those patterns?

ANSI/ASME Y14.1 defines paper sizes, but i don't have access to the full text, so  can't say if that particular document references hatch patterns or not.

I have a copy of ASME Y14.1. Unfortunately, the information I'm looking for isn't in that standard.

ASME Y14.3 for multi and section view drawing standards. Hatches in mechanical drafting are "Section Lines" and should be found in Y14.3. ANSI became ASME in the 1990's I think.

Had to correct this from 14.5.

I've gone through several ASME standards, including the ones you mention. But none contain the information I'm looking for.
