Annotative Scale Lists

I've been recently using Annotative scale and finding it great but I have found 2 things that are slowing me down while using it.

1. I have to add object scale a lot by selecting all the dimensions and manually adding them from the list. Is there a way to update what annotative scale to use in the dimension settings itself rather than highlighting each individual dimension. I have to do this so it will show up in paper space when I set a scale, i.e match 1:20 in paper to 1:20 annotative.

2. When I'm in paper space I have to select a viewport, change it's view ratio from say 1:10 then to another and then back to 1:10 for the scale to refresh. Is there a setting I'm missing for this as well?

on your status bar next to your annotative scale you see the two section symbols of a scale?

make sure they are on (Blue) in Autocad 2017

first symbol controls if annotative features are on or off

second symbol controls if you change the model space scale and it is on all annotative objects will adjust with the change.
