Annotative dimensioning auto initiating

This is something that I have tried to resolve in the past, but have never been able to find a solution.  I assume that most users in this forum would disagree with my preference to NOT use annotative dimensioning or other annotative features.  My opinion around these features is that they are just another example of "letting the program do the thinking for you", although I can see the appeal of them, if they in fact lead to more efficiency.

Anyway, as I have posted before, I discovered that whenever you insert a block from the Tool Palette, annotative dimensioning immediately is added to your "lineup" of dimstyles, whether you want it or not.  I don't want it - for one thing, I am, I guess, a little obsessive about purging unnecessary elements from my current CAD session, so this becomes yet another item that I have to repeatedly get rid of as I am trying to streamline my current session.

Are there any other users out there in the forum that would care to comment on this?  And, again, I don't want to adopt any of these annotative functions - it just doesn't suit my approach to drafting, so, please, don't try to convince me to use this....it seems we should have an option to not allow this automatic introduction into our current drafting session.

Thanks for responding if you care to do so,

LC

Not worth worrying about.  It should be in your hands, though.  Open the content drawings and purge out the annotative styles.

Not every AutoCAD feature works for every single user: so... your concerns are heard and not judged over here.

Looks like your block already contain those undesired definitions based on your post: there is no "Autodesk is forcing you do do it this way" stuff in the program, you the user are in full control pretty much all the time (unless Autodesk really removes a feature you like).

What all that means is you will need to edit each and every one of your source blocks to remove all that you wish to never see, then in each final destination file you will need to PURGE or if in use then CHECKSTANDARDS those unwanted into oblivion.

You appear to have a lot of house-cleaning to do up front to get the final results you desire.

If you suspect otherwise, pleas elaborate in more detail and share source dwg block files and destination DWG files for others to examine around here.

@lovecraft

Keep the dimstyle, but disable annotation

or use toolpalette command tools (command -INSERT / -INSERTCONTENT) instead of insertion tools

@pendean

also without a user mistake - The internal Toolpalette EXECUTETOOL will add the dimstyle

Thanks to the three of you for your input.  I will have to consider all of your potential solutions later.
