Aligned dimensions not same as Linear

Hello,

I am trying to provide dimensions on isometric views in paper space.  I have been able to place the aligned dimension correctly but I'm not getting the desired value.  Please see attached drawing, the isometric view shows a dimension of 3 11/16" , then shown in the top view as 4 1/2".  We do a lot of projects where isometric views are preferred but need to show the linear dimension.  So using the attached drawing as an example, (intended used with more complex assemblies) we would want to show that 4 1/2" dimension in the isometric view.  Is there any other way than editing the dimension text value manually?

Thank you.

Unfortunately AutoCAD does not dimension isometric in linear form. The only way to do this would be to use Plant 3D. Not the answer you were looking for.

An easy option, if it's otherwise acceptable for you, is to do the Dimensioning in Model Space.

Hello,

I downloaded 3d plant and trying to do a test run but I'm unable to find out how to get the same value from a top view dimension in the isometric view.  I'm still getting different values.  Please see attached drawing.

Thank you.

Dimensioning in MS is so much easier but if you must do it in PS you can adjust the Measurement scale scaling factor for an isometric projection with a value of 1.22474487 (square root of 2/3).
