AectoAcad command

Hello, I need some help when was working on 2013 I found this command and it worked very well in get ride of proxy object, with the use of Bentley enabler.

Now I am working on 2015 my company just upgraded, but the thing is the IT guy down loaded 2016 and we had to remove it form my machine because Bentley does not have enabler for 2016 yet.

So they installed 2015, Bentley's enabler, but when I use the command aectoacad it seem and acts like it is working but when I open the file that was created it still has proxy,

try to explode the objects and it does but gives me Polygon mesh, but the proxy is still there. I can keep doing this for hour but the proxy never really is gone can anyone or has anyone have this happen

George

compare the MAINTAIN sub-option in 2015 to what you did in 2013, AFAIK little has changed unless this is a Bentley Enabler added hiccup.

Also try knocking the file down to R2000 format and see if that helps.

how would I know or how do I find out what Bentley did add or not add, and what do you mean "AFAIK"

As Far As I Know: AFAIK.

Can you share a DWG file? I don't have the Bentley add-on and will gladly test it for you here in R2015.

I do not have the Bentley add-on and your Bentley Proxy Objects are not explodable or editable in AutoCAD 2014-2015-2016 here. Sorry, I believe you will need to go to Bentley for support with this issue.

"vanilla" AutoCAD has always had AECTOACAD and -EXPORTTOAUTOCAD: your source of information is incorrect.

I understand that you feel this command works in vanilla version but this is my resource, so if you can please explain what you think I should do please I need this command to work, but no luckn my drawing

"George,

The command EXPORTTOAUTOCAD does not exist in the basic vanilla version of AutoCAD. It only exists in one of the verticals. AutoCAD Architecture, MEP, Civil 3D, ect

Can you provide a screen capture of your interface if you are unsure. It should say at the top of the application window. Are you using one of these verticals as plain AutoCAD by changing the profile? Perhaps using the vertical profile itself will yield different results.

Please provide this info if you can and we will research more."

EXPORTTOAUTOCAD still works in my plain vanilla AutoCAD 2011, 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016. However, it only works with a hyphen in front, like this:
-EXPORTTOAUTOCAD

Friend, AECTOACAD (and -EXPORTTOAUTOCAD comamnd) is a core command in all versions of AutoCAD (even plain AutoCAD) and has been for a very long time. Your source is mistaken or perhaps just confused, as vertical versions of AutoCAD are additionally able to tackle/convert the custom items they can create. Maybe that's what they meant.

Let's play pin the tail ... Here is an article, one of dozens, from he year 2007 talking about it for plain autoCAD http://entosdesign.blogspot.com/2007/11/aectoacad-helping-those-with-older.html
And here is AutoCAD 2010's HELP (plain, aka Vanilla):
http://docs.autodesk.com/ACD/2010/ENU/AutoCAD%202010%20User%20Documentation/index.html?url=WS1a91938...
and so on.

Dean,
please understand I am not disagreeing with you I have the command on my 2015,

I would like to know why the command is not working, is there any suggestion if why, it will make the file but it will not explode the proxy to be modify.

"The -EXPORTTOAUTOCAD and AECTOACAD commands create a new file and explode all the proxy AEC objects into regular AutoCAD objects. The intelligence of the AEC objects is lost in the new file, but the former AEC objects can be modified."

any ideas why?
