have client that upgraded to 2018 over weekend. we run 2013. saved down files and sent but when we try and open them it states a pop up of newer AEC objects found in file and when we open the file the objects are not there says they will be dismissed. Is there an object enabler or something else that needs to be done on our 2013 end to read these or something on the newer 2018 end when saving the files down?

can you get them to export the file using EXPORTTOAUTOCAD and then send it?

Don't expect there will be an OE to run in 2013 for 2018.  spending developer resources to help enabling people who don't spend money on autodesk to continue not spending more money on autodesk products is not exactly a profitable strategy.  Getting your client to ExportToAutoCAD rather than simply saving down a version is your best bet.

Bear in mind that if you need any of the intelligence of the AECObjects, Export will just take them down to simple geometry, eg lines, etc.

You can also get the latest free 2018 DTV viewer and use it in your office to "export" these DWG files down to R2013 for your use.
