Hello,

I'm a student and our school provided us all with an autocad license so we can download autocad at on our own pc which i did and i used it alot in the past this year already.

Since the fall update of windows 10 i did last friday, i've noticed my autocad gives this problem;' Problem loading acadres.dll resource file. Now i've done all steps in

And have reinstalled autocad 3 times now. Removing .NET removing visuals removing everything in temp, local, appdata and removed all files with fix-problems-that-block-programs-from-being-installed-or-removed. I've followed all steps i could.

Now i dont know if any path got installed wrongly or whatever but before you explain me how i should reinstall my OS (which will have get me to loose alot of programs) i think this is a real issue and that there should be a another way around. I even have backed up my pc aswell to the build were it used to work but still doesnt work.

Please provide some help,

Thanks,

Hello @Anonymous!

Have you tried installing the Autodesk software by means of the virtual agent?

Hi @Anonymous,

I believe that this message is a typical indication that the C++ libraries are likely not functioning.

Which version of AutoCAD are you trying to install?  When you removed the first installation did you do a clean uninstall?

I would start there- make sure you follow all the steps in the article to which I linked.

Then, I would try to uninstall the C++ Redistributables.  Then check for all Windows updates and perhaps even run the .Net Repair tool.

Then get a download from the Autodesk Virtual Agent and reinstall. If you are successful then you will want to check your Autodesk Desktop APp for all patches and updates.

Note, these steps will only work with AutoCAD 2016-2018.

Please select the Accept as Solution button if my post solves your issue or answers your question.

I have reinstalled the C++ files.

I'll have my dad look into it this weekend and let you know what he found. I'll concider the agent site aswell. Even though our school setup gave us specefic downloads to download autocad. (which work with the rest of the students).

Ok so i went to configuration then programs and then programs and features and clicked to repair autocad instead. It said it didnt find a file so obv the path wasnt configured right. I had to hit repair a few times to fix all paths and find all files but now it works. Someone earlier in the forums referred to the acadres.dll as a wrong path configuration problem. And now after all he is right aswell. Fix your path guys!

I had the same problem and out of despair from different solutions, I tried to uninstall only the AutoCAD software retaining other autodesk apps in the control panel then reinstall. Fortunately, it is resolved.
