ACAD 2017 lags

Hi,

When selecting objects, using a window to select objects, to copy or move objects from one place to another, I seem to always have to wait for the instruction to happen.

I've tried:

Purging

saving, leaving he drawings file then opening it once again (thru ACAD)

Deleting my %tmp% folder contents,

taking a small portion out of the larger .dwg file and working on this in a new file,

Perhaps its my hardware? I've attached my spec fyi.  If it is hardware, is there something I can do rather than go buy another PC, which I don;t have the money for at this moment.

Canada

Thanks

Hi,

>> When selecting objects, using a window to select objects

Can you please describe what exactly you are doing and what exactly is slow?

Do you first select objects to start then the command or do you start the command (like _MOVE) and then select objects?

When you do a window selection, which part is slow, after the first click until seeing the window box, or moving the mouse/cursor while the window box grows or the second click until AutoCAD is ready to select next object, or after the last <ENTER> (to show AutoCAD that selection is completed) ...

You might try the same in a new drawing, just to see if it's just one dwg-file that shows this issue.
You might try to disable hardware acceleration (command _GRAPHICSCONFIG) if that makes anything better

You might login with a new Windows user account and start AutoCAD there with a new AutoCAD profile, to see if it might be profile specific.

In case it's drawing specific you might show us this dwg-file.

You can create a screencast (>>>click<<<) so we can see which part of the selection is the slow one.

Thank you for your response.

I decided to get rid of my 'old' PC, replacing the dual CPU circa 2009 with this new setup i5-6400 etc.
