ACAD 2016 flicker and Nvidia Quadro K1000M Graphics Driver

I have an Nvidia K1000M graphics driver on a Lenovo W530 laptop and am running ACAD 2016. I'm wondering if the driver is out of date because the ACAD screen flickers when moving the cursor or during zooming. From what I see on the Nvidia website, it looks like they have replaced the Quadro K1000M with the Quadro M600M or the M1000M. Should I upgrade to one of those two new drivers or is my screen flicker issue caused by something else? FYI, I've already turned off hardware acceleration and other unused settings. Please reply to both jhernandez@apidesign.com and tbevis@apidesign.com. Thanks!

Hi @aluong117,

Since I have different hardware I can't test this for you.  I suggest that you grab the latest driver and install it. If it doesn't perform better you can rollback to the previous driver.

Thanks, John.

We'll try it out.

 AUTO1814,

Were you able to resolve the flicker problem with your graphics card?  This problem has appeared with an AutoCAD update on a machine in my office.  The automatic driver update utility in Windows says the best driver is already installed, but we had to turn off hardware acceleration to make AutoCAD usable.

Hi @SteveMazza4062,

Sorry that you are having screen flicker.  Which graphics card and OS are you using? Are you too on AutoCAD 2016 (with hotfixes and service pack applied)?

I suggest checking the manufacturers web site for the most current driver. Install it on one computer to see if it helps with the issue. If not, Roll back one driver or maybe two versions to see if this improves the display.

Hello John,

Thanks for your reply.  Our machines run on Windows 7 64-bit.  The machine is a Dell laptop (not sure which exact model), with the same graphics card as what the original poster had, a Nvidia K1000m.  The user is working in Civil 3D 2015.  It is worth checking the service pack status, though, as IT sometimes misses service packs when setting up the deployments.

Hi @SteveMazza4062,

I went to the nVidia site and don't even see that card listed (even under legacy).  Perhaps checking the Dell site for the most current driver would be a good idea too.

Can you run GRAPHICSCONFIG in AutoCAD and take a screen capture? I would like to see what settings are checked and which card is being utilized.
