Absolute Coordinates not working

About half the studens using Autocad 2016 are having the same problem - they select absolute entry but when they enter 2,2 it starts at 0,0 and when they enter a second set of coordinates it does not move. I have tried to see what is different in settings but cannot find why it will not work.

So teach them to get in the habit of actually typing what you want to instruct AutoCAD, instead of hoping what you partially typed is correct.

#2,2 or #0,0 tells AutoCAD you want the absolute cooridnate: the trigger is #.
@2,2 is for relative coordinates, the trigger is @

Simply typing 2,2 eaves is to a variable setting in the file to determine, and who has time to remember the name of yet another obscure variable in AutoCAD.
