3D PDF

Hi there,

I'm looking for recommendations for the best way to create a 3D pdf in AutoCAD 2017.

I am aware you can export to 3D DWF, but would also like the option to export straight to PDF similar to SketchUp.

Can someone make a recommendation of the best 3rd party 3D pdf program out there?

Thanks

Josh.

You need to purchase a 3DPDF capable software package like Acrobat or BlueBeam or Simlab http://www.simlab-soft.com/3d-plugins/AutoCAD/3D_PDF_exporter_for_AutoCAD-main.aspx

You can also download 'Bentley View' which is free and will create 3D pdf's. It carries over all the layer info so you can turn on/off certain layers to view it in different ways. Just take note if you use Beltey View when you open the .dwg it won't look right on your screen, just go through the process to print it as 3D and it will look correct in the PDF.

In the PDF you just need to make sure you 'Fit Visible' or else it won't rotate on the centre of your model.

I know I'm a little late to the party but Bentley View definitely helps out.

A very easy to use & FREE program.

I wanted to create a couple 3D PDFs from AutoCAD & this did the trick.

I downloaded it, searched some how-to's & created the (2) 3D PDFs in about an hour.

Thanks for the info! 😄
