3D Objects have disappeared?!

I am using AutoCAD 2018.  I have a drawing that's got a bunch of 3D objects in it.  For some reason, it suddenly wouldn't allow me to snap to ANYTHING 3D.  Went to other drawings, no problems.  OK.  So I did an audit, and it said it found some errors, which I had it fix.  Restarted AutoCAD...no luck.  I thought, well...I'll just restart the computer.  Reopened the drawing, and every single 3D object is gone.  Just not there.  I went to Quick Select, and it allows me to select all the 3D Solids...and all the grips show up...but nothing else is there.  I am at a total loss, but I know that I have hours of work in this project and can't afford to lose it all now, if at all possible.

Please note...I can't respond quickly all the time.  And I can't just upload all sorts of drawings, etc., so I can't always give it to you to diagnose that way.  I just need ideas and to try it, or hopefully someone that's gone through it already, and has a fix.  I've exhausted myself searching for anything that's close online.  lol

Thanks in advance for any help anyone can give me!

UPDATE:

I tried copying everything to a new drawing, and now I can see things.  But I'm hoping someone knows how I can prevent this in the future, or if there's some sort of setting I've got wrong, because I'm worried that may not always work if this happens again.  Thanks!

UPDATE AGAIN:

Upon closer inspection, no...that didn't work for all the objects.  A whole slew of them are missing.  I am running out of things to try!

AUDIT and RECOVER commands will delete unrecoverable objects when they are found: either command should have told you as much at the commandline or a pop-up.

Did they?

Rename a BAK or SV$ autosave file, or go back to yesterday's server backups to recover would be the next steps you need to take.

Tried those things.  The backup is too quick, apparently.  lol  What I'm noticing is that if I Quick Select 3D Solids, I get (42) of them...but then when I deselect the visible ones, I get (20).  In other words, the 20 objects are there...but I can't see them.  Going to try to work with that, but this is the weirdest thing I've seen in some time.  lol

Anyone have any other ideas?  I've looked everywhere...tried everything...really trying to not have to redraw all of those objects, especially when they're actually there, according to AutoCAD.

Hi,

I hope you have been saving to new file names incrementally?

Can you post the oldest file you had trouble with?  Maybe we can take a peek and see what could be at issue.

Also, can you confirm that he file was initially created in AutoCAD?

Hi @asdemeter,

Have you tried BREP (for 3D solids) or REGEN3 (for surfaces)?

Try 3DCLIP command, pick on the upper right two icons to toggle the clip planes on and off.  It is a long shot based on your description but worth a try.
