Hi can someone please advise?

I exported one of my 3D drawings using - export-3D DWF- its saves and everything but when I open the saved 3D drawing it shows the model as gray(default model color) I am struggling with this for days now and can't seem to get the color to show on the autodesk design review as it was on my autocad 3D model. Please help.

Hi,

>> when I open the saved 3D drawing it shows the

>> model as gray(default model color)

If gray is the model color, why do you  expect it to be shown in color? (or what is the definition of "default model color" as you have shown a screenshot with colors)

Maybe it helps if you upload the dwg-file + let is know which version of AutoCAD and which version of DesignReview you are using.

Hi Alfred

I apologize for not using the correct wording, I am using autocad 2018 and the autodesk design review does not show me the year as I downloaded it from the link straight from autocad.

The problem is I have assigned the 3D in autocad with specific colors but when I export 3D DWF it shows the model as only gray (which on my autocad is the default drawing color) so the photo with the colors are before export and the gray model is after export.

Thank you in advance

I have a similar problem when exporting to FBX - Materials added to a mesh in Autocad 2018 turns grey when exported:

Hi,

>> I am using autocad 2018

Please start command _ABOUT in AutoCAD and show us a screenshot from that dialog... only this gives us the exact release-/update information for your AutoCAD 2018.

>> design review does not show me the year

To get the detailed info about DesignReview you can use the help-button in the ribbon, there you can find the "about ..." function.

As you can see in my screenshot I have assigned 3 different colors (using AutoCAD 2018.1.2) to each of the box objects (3D-Solids) and all looks well in DesignReview (lower part - AutoCAD / upper part DesignReview):

Hi,

@Anonymous

Please create a different thread, your question export to FBX is totally different to export to dwf, also assigning AutoCAD colors is different to assigning materials. When you create a new thread you should also add these informations:

  • In the export options which settings have you chosen for material
  • which software did you use to open the FBX.

Hi Alfred I don't know what I did right but it worked , your comment about the materials got me thinking so I changed a small part by going to properties and change the layer color and exported to see if it works and the whole thing exported with the right color! Thank you for the fast and awesome client service Alfred!Capture.PNG

Hi Alfred

Here is the info you requested regarding the Autodesk review.

@Anonymous , try and left click on one of the spheres you created, use properties and change the layer color for one of them and it would hopefully export correctly, I think it may be a glitch or something but mine works perfectly now.
