Hello,

I am currently trying to learn the software and one problem I am having is 3D align. I have used more simple packages before which use the simple mate, align, center axis method but nothing this complex.

In short i am trying to align a knob flush with the center on a plate.

Im sure its the simplest type of align there is but im struggling please help.

Thank you,

Ed

Hi and Welcome to AutoDesk Forum,

without attaching the CAD file it will took a long time to discuss BUT i'll give you a hint to teach your self by pressing F1 while 3DALIGN command is active.

read the instructions and see if it's help.

Hello,

Here is the file in question.

I would like the knob to be in the center of the rectangle flush with the top face.

Very simple I just cant do it at all.

If you can please remove the diagonal lines which i put in as construction lines as I couldn't find the "construction line" feature.

thank you.

Hi,

find herewith the CAD file with 2 options made by MOVE command line the left one made by move and when he ask for base point i catch the knop from above by Quadrant osnap (qua ) and the second option i catch the knop from bottom by Center (cen) osnap.both previous cases moved to the intersection of the rectangle.

Command: m MOVE
Select objects: 1 found

Select objects:
Specify base point or [Displacement] <Displacement>: _qua of
Oblique, non-uniformly scaled objects were ignored.
Specify second point or <use first point as displacement>: int of

Note: object snap modes can be prepared by OS command line or while the command is active by typing the first letters for every mode.
