3-D Object Snap Size

So I'm having an issue where my 3-D Object Snaps in a particular drawing is displayed as much larger than normal (it seems to me like it's a line weight issue with the snap?)

The interesting thing is that this only happens on a particular drawing, any ideas?

Pictures of the issue and what I'm used to seeing attached.Issue.pngTypical.png

Hi,

from the screenshot I don't know what you mean,

>> this only happens on a particular drawing

Then it might help to upload this drawing, so we can test with that specific data and environment.

A global solution for issues of one drawing is sometimes to use copy and paste to copy your geometry from modelspace into a new drawing.

The file is attached, as far as circumventing the problem goes, copying and pasting the data works. However, I can't seem to find what the issue is and therefore can't fix it in the future. I've attached the DWG.

The problem only occurs when dimensioning 3D objects in Paper Space

Hi @m_angel_lopez94,

I am unable to duplicate the problem but I did notice that Audit found a couple of bad objects, purge did a bunch and a -purge>regapps also removed 11 apps.  Perhaps this will help.

Please select the Accept as Solution button if my post fully solves your issue or answers your question.

Hi,

well, I can reproduce the issue, but only in 2016, the same drawing opened in 2017 does not show the same defect.

So I guess it is something special to the combination your DWG and AutoCAD 2016.

As the issue does not appear in 2016 I assume that you will not find a variable to control this behavior, the only thing I have found is to turn off the lineweight (LWDISPLAY) which shows then the 3D-ObjectSnap as thin symbol and not that thick.

Hi @m_angel_lopez94,

I am glad to see that Alfred.NESWADBA was able to duplicate the problem.

Are either of you able to duplicate it using the cleaned file I provided?

Hi,

Yes, using AutoCAD 2016 I can reproduce the behavior with your file.

Please find the attached video which shows the settings, and the dependency of LWDISPLAY.

Thank you Alfred.NESWADBA, this solved the problem without having to migrate my geometry to a separate file.

As far as the cleaned file John.vellek i was still able to reproduce the issue.

Thank you both again!
