Right,

I have an xref which is the design of a section of highway that is entirely 2D (i.e. all the z values are 0) and then I have a topographical survey of the same area which contains values for the elevations along the same stretch. How can I combine the two so that I have my original design in 3D with the elevations drawn from survey. In effect what I want to achieve is to drape my design over the 3D topo survey.

Hi,

usually we put the topographical survey as a plan marked with a section line and then we put the section exactly below the plan. i hope that what you're asking for.
