2D Drawing from Inventor to Autocad - Block difficulties

Hello,

I'm a new user of Inventor and I'm facing some difficulties when importing the 2D drawings created in Inventor to Autocad.

When I save the drawing as a DWG, I can see all the views and when I select them, they are not like normal blocks. As an example, when I click on the 'block' I can't move it with the mouse, I can't see even the small squares that allow me to move the block to other part of the sheet. I can't even scale the view.

Saying that, when I click with the right button in the view and ask for Block Editor it asks me Enter Block name or... In my opinion it should open straight the block that I selected.

Also when I try to explode the block, I use the command line 'x' and select the view and nothing happen. (If I click directly in the block editor and open the view that i'm interested, I confirm that the option Allow exploding is 'Yes'.

Once I'm inside of the block I would like to explode it and create two other blocks, but unfortunately I couldn't manage it.

Someone could help me?

Kind Regards.

Hello @Anonymous,

Welcome to the community.

Did you Export the Inventor dwg file? Inventor drawing data is not fully editable in AutoCAD, to edit the file objects & components in AutoCAD, export the file.

Inventor files saved in Autodesk Inventor Drawing (*.dwg) format can be opened directly in AutoCAD where you can view, plot, and measure the Autodesk Inventor data & views remain linked to the parts and assemblies where they were created.
