2D drawing from 3D Model of piping

I am trying to get a 2D view of piping given to me in 2012-ish.  Im trying to use flatshot command but i keep getting the error of "There are no solids or surfaces that can be projected."  My piping is definitely 3D, but i dont know if its a solid or mesh, or what it is.  More than willing to upload a drawing if needed.  Any other commands or hints or tips I could try?

It looks like your pipes are probably proxy entities, created with some other software (or other version/vertical of autocad, but I'm leaning toward another software entirely).

Im sure it was created with different software, so how do i fix it?  is there a way to?

It was created with Bentley proxy objects, so I'd say it was done with AutoPlant. I'm have a look at it but I can't see a way to get them to flatten, you'd have to get someone with AutoPlant to have a crack at it, otherwise just leave it as a 3D model and create Paperspace Viewports for each of the views you want.

so how do you see it was created with bentley?  and how did you see it was a proxy?

I have pdf's, and for construction this was great, im in the process of getting these drawings in to a maintenance drawing for a large plant.  I dont have the access to the bentley files or to get anyone to rework it, it may just have to be a redraw if there is no way to flatten.

Thanks for your help.

When I opened it in 2019 I got a Proxy Error Warning dialog box. If you have the PDF's, you might be able to use the PDF underlay tool to convert the PDF to DWG. Also, if you're on AutoCAD subscription, you might have access to Raster Design which converts raster files to CAD. https://www.autodesk.com/products/autocad/included-toolsets/autocad-raster-design
