2026 viewbase not updating

I draw mostly in 3D.  This latest version of AutoCAD is driving me crazy.  I can create viewbases, sections, details, but once created I cannot update them.  It does not matter what drawing.  I start a drawing from scratch (acad.dwt) with a couple simple 3d objects (cylinder, box, sphere).  I grab a couple objects, start viewbase and can create the base view, sections and details. I can even change the scale and the visual style on the views.  When I try to add or subtract objects to the base view it does not update any current view.  But if I create a new section or projected view that new object will show up even though it does not show in the base view.  If I move the section line, the section view does not update.  Did AutoCAD add some setting to mess with me?  I reset AutoCAD to the default, got rid of my profile.  Uninstalled and reinstalled autoCAD.  Updated the graphics card.

I'm using a Dell Precision 3680 desktop with a Nvidia RTX 4500 Ada graphics card.  The machine is only a few months old.

I have never seen anything like this.  I'm at a loss and ready to kick AutoCAD to the trash can!

Do you have the same exact problem if you install and use AutoCAD2025? It is fully updated, 2026 is not yet.

I just went back to 2025 and it seems to be operating fine, though the drawings I did use 2026 on I am now unable to create new viewbases.  All of the current views I cannot edit, and anytime I try to create a new viewbase I get the message "Unable to perform the requested action. This drawing was last edited with model documentation in a newer version of AutoCAD."  So I now have a handful of drawings with multiple layouts in each that I need to recreate.  This is creating havoc with trying to keep my billable hours down on a couple of jobs.  I tried using El-Shawadify's VBUP lisp routine, and that doesn't do anything.  I've tried auditing the files.

If 2026 is not fully updated, then why release it?  AutoDesk is really annoying me lately.

Same issue here. Seems like AutoCAD 2026 is unfit for production, as this basic functionality is not working.

Hopefully Autodesk will release a patch soon.

Still broken in AutoCAD 2026.1 unfortunately.

Thanks for the update.  Saves me from trying again!  Sticking with 2025 for now and not having any issues.  By the time they get it fixed in 2026 they'll probably have 2027 out and have even more issues...🙄

I updated to 2026.1 today and still have the same problem. Also, I can't work on drawings made from previous releases as any changes made in model space won't update in the viewbase's.

I had this exact same issue on a new machine. I downloaded and installed Inventor Interoperability 2026 and the issue was fixed.
