Zooming / panning with Magic Mouse

I'm having an ongoing and very frustrating problem with zooming with the middle "button" of my magic mouse.  I have it set to zoom instead of panning. Sometimes, AutoCAD just switches from zooming to panning.  It can happen during a command, and it almost always happens when switching from one drawing to another.  Mostly if i just enter MB for MBUTTONPAN and zoom again, it goes back to zooming.  Sometimes I have to re-enter MBUTTONPAN 0, sometimes toggle between MBUTTONPAN 0 and 1 a few times, and sometimes it won't go back to zooming unless I close and re-open the drawing. This can really affect workflow.

I've tried to find some consistency in this behavior, but it truly seems random.

I am running AutoCAD 2015 LT fully updated with Service Packs on a 15" Macbook Pro Retina (late 2013), with Yosemite 10.10.3 (though this behavior has been consistent with every OS version ever since I upgraded to LT 2015.

Thanks for any help!

neri-f: someone at autocad contacted me and we tried a bunch of things. They are working on a solution.

However, I did learn something in the back and forth that really helps: when it flips to panning, make a pinch getsture on the trackpad: that fixes the problem.

I had to finally give up on using the Magic Mouse for AutoCAD and Revit. It was too impossible to hit the "middle mouse" button consistently without the tactile feedback of an actual button.

If you don't have it installed, then please google and download "Magic Prefs" for much better control of your mouse buttons and that will at least give you a fighting chance to use the Magic Mouse within AutoCAD.

Better yet, consider getting a better mouse with real buttons for use in AutoCAD. You can still keep and use your Magic Mouse for all other computer use.
