I have AutoCAD 2017 LT.
I would like to know the correct procedure for inserting raster images into a drawing so the image is in place when I next open the dwg.
I'm wanting to insert a jpeg of a map which I will then scale. My plan is to keep the jpeg in its own folder within the main project folder containing my drawing. So basically I have a drawings folder and a map folder, both within my specific project folder. I'm not sure if the location of the jpeg to insert has any real significance but I thought I should explain my process.
I just tried XR to get the Reference Manager up and inserted the jpeg by using the 'Attach Reference' button. This worked ok but when I close the drawing and reopen the image has disappeared. Is this how it should work and do I need to carry out another step?
