X-ref Imperial scale drawing (inches) within Metric Scale drawing (millimetre)

I work with metric scale (drawn in millimetres) but I am working with consultants who are working in imperial scale (drawn in inches).

It's easier for me to think in metric scale, so I would like to x-ref the consultant's drawing (imperial scale) to my template (metric scale) so I can draw in metric scale with an accurate base drawing.

Can you please advise if this is possible?

Thank you.

Welcome to Autodesk Forums!

Hi @Anonymous ,

For the Xref to scale automatically during attaching it, you need to set system variable INSUNITS in both drawings (Metric and Imperial) correctly.

In Imperial drawing INSUNITS should be 1 and in Metric drawing it should be 4.

In this case the contents of Imperial drawing will be scaled correctly when you insert it as Xref into the Metric drawing.
