I am currently running AutoCAD LT 2025 for Mac.
Have had this issue across every version of CAD for Mac for the last 5/6 years and just tolerated it.
There are two occasions where this issue arises.
- When I open multiple files, it takes a little while for them to all open. While they are opening I might try to type and email or do something else, however as each new drawing starts to open, the program always come to the front and over the top of what I am doing. Is there a way to have the files open in the background without it coming to the front.
- When plotting a similar thing happens, I can be publishing a 40 page set of drawings which can take anywhere between 5 mins to 30 mins depending on the density and complexity of the drawings. In this time I am always trying to do other work on other programs, however as each new drawing plots, AutoCAD comes to the front and takes over the screen.
Is there any option to have the program stay in the background when doing these tasks?
BTW system variable BACKGROUNDPLOT does not work in LT for Mac, cant even select a variable when typing BACKGROUNDPLOT
PS shout out to Autodesk for making AutoCAD for Mac compatible with the new Mac OS so quickly!
