I'm using Autocad for Mac 2020 and for some reason I'm unable to select objects to get areas via the Inquiry menu. I can find areas by selecting points but this doesn't work for geometries which include arcs for example?

Any thoughts?

Luke

Hi Luke,

According to >>>>this<<<< help topic, when you use "Object" option you can find areas only for closed objects (excluding polylines, which can be opened):
"Object
Calculates the area and perimeter of a selected object. You can calculate the area of circles, ellipses, splines, polylines, polygons, regions, and 3D solids.
Note: 2D solids (created with the SOLID command) do not have an area reported."

But you can find area of opened objects, such as ARCs, by selecting them and looking at Properties Inspector:
