I'm having trouble installing a font in both Autocad LT for PC and Autocad LT for Mac. We've not had this problem with any other font. We keep our fonts on our server and download the fonts locally to each machine. Some of us are on Macs and some on PC's (all the laptops are Macs). We want to use a particular font for a project, Zurich BT Extra Condensed. When we install this on a Mac, it shows up with the name "Zurich BT". On a PC, it shows up with the name "Zurich BT ExtraCondensed".
Here it is in the font list after being installed on a Mac via fontbook, showing up as being named "Zurich BT" (on the left):
Here is the same font installed into the fonts folder on a PC, now showing up as being named "Zurich BT ExtraCondensed":
If I get the text style to work with "Zurich BT Extracondensed" on the PC, when I go back to Mac, all the text is broken and the text style editor now shows two zurich fonts with different names, the one added by the PC is 'missing' here on the Mac even though they're the same font. See the below screenshot
Here's a screenshot of the text style set up for PC, pointing to "Zurich BT ExtraCondensed":
If I set up the text style on a Mac, it finds "Zurich BT" and the 'typeface' is showing as bold for some reason (it's not bold). The type in the drawing will look perfect when set up like this, but it will be broken when opened on a PC, as the PC is looking for the longer Zurich name. See the screen shot of the Mac text style editor below:
Has anyone had this problem with a font? I've never seen it happen. The font works on both systems, but comes in with a different name, and therefor can't be used on both systems, only either / or.
This is really frustrating! Any help would be greatly appreciated.
