Trouble with lines and measurements

When I try to create lines or shapes the measurements appear not in whole numbers. I was enrolled in a course to learn CAD for interior design and this held me back from learning the rest of the material. I attached an image of what I see from a simple line. My professor was at a loss and we did quite a bit of troubleshooting.

@hbpowers This means you are starting this LINE command somewhere around the planet Jupiter instead of much closer to the 0,0,0  start point of your open DWG file.

Did you receive this file from someone else perhaps?

Yes, this file was sent to the class but no one else had this issue.

Interesting, during troubleshooting we moved the starting point to the axis. Is there another way to check that? I only have the files I was sent to go off of. I only got 2 weeks into the course before I had to re-enroll in the spring so I am pretty new to CAD.

If your prof cannot figure this out then it’s time to drop this institution and go somewhere else that’s more knowledgeable

So everyone else, when you INSERT your DWG file into theirs, show up in the same exact spot, or close enough, or is yours so far far away it goes back to what I wrote as your issue?

Isn't that pretty much what I suggested? or is it different? You'll need to share your DWG file here then if you remain unsure about it all.

We also need screenshots of the ABOUT command from inside your AutoCAD: and confirm your OS please.
