Tool Bars and Palette Locations!!!!

Hey Guys!!!!

I am using AutoCAD 2013 for Mac and I am having an issue with Tool Bars and Palletes. Every time I open the program the Tool Bars and Palettes are in different locations. I find this to be a pain in the **** as I then have to move them around to the place I want them to be.

I am using a MacBook Pro 15" and I connect to an external monitor and I want all of my Palettes on one screen and my Tool Bars and Work Space on the other.

If there is a lisp routine I can run or if there is a way to lock this in that would be great.

I think this is something I have mentioned since the inception of the new Mac version of the software. I have been a beta tester from the beginning of the new Mac versions and I was hoping that this would have been fixed or added in by now.

Please send help!!!!!

Hi,

I never have tried to work with external monitor connected to my MacBook (I wish to test, but I do not have an external display adapter 😞 ), so I can not test the issue you have with Palettes position. Maybe the problem you encountered in earlier releases of AC for Mac are still here.

I think that all settings for Palettes position are saved in ~/Library/Application Support/Autodesk/roaming/AutoCAD 2013/R19.0/enu/Support/Profile.aws file.

Just for sake of interest - could you post your Profile.aws file here? (you have to compress it in order to be able to attach to the post)

I'll compare mine and yours. Before uploading file - setup your workspace as you need on two monitors and quit AutoCAD.

Maxim

Hi Dana,

No file attached (there is a problem here with attachments here on forums). Try to attach ZIP archive (compress Profile.aws) or send it to my email:

No 😞

Which browser do you use - in FF I also can not attach files, but in Safari - I can.

Or simply send to my email

In Profile.aws file I see, that "total" resolution of your display is 3120x1050, so it appears that AutoCAD uses height from your external monitor measurement and width as a sum of measurements of Mac Book and external monitor (1680+ 1440=3120) for virtual display. And this seems correct. But your Mac Book resolution height is in fact smaller then 1050 pixels - it should be 900 as I think.
Maybe snag is here?

Could you also, please, attach here quick sketch of your dual monitor system with palettes dimensions and positions?

Hi,
Unfortunately there are no screenshots (attached images) in your posts 😞
Try to attach ZIP archive (compress images and attach to the post)

Hi Dana,
I'm still waiting for screenshots from your monitors at the moment when you running AutoCAD with your preferred workspace setup. Is it possible?

I am hoping you can find a way to get them to stay in one place. I hate moving them every time I open AutoCAD!!!!

Any idea on when Express Tools will be available for the Mac version or something close to it???

Thank you.
