Text is printing larger than it appears?

I am plotting from paperspace. I have details xrefed in to paper space and scaled. I always draw everything 1" = 1". The text in the details appears fine on the screen, but when I plot, some of the text is huge and runs off the page. Though it does not occur in all the files. I am not using annotated text or scales for anything. I have tried wblock to create new details - no luck. Have created duplicate details from one that works - no luck. 

This is a recent development, working with files that have been working fine in the past. Running 2016 on a MacBook Pro OS X El Capitan.

Any chance you can share the DWG file with us?

But first try this tip from @maxim_k 

Try to set system variable USEQUARTZFONT=0:

or try to use different TTF (OTF) font for the Text Style.

Hi,

This bug was introduced in Update 1 for AutoCAD 2016 for Mac, so you can try to remove the Update. Unfortunately there is no special uninstaller for this Update, you need to uninstall AutoCAD and install it again from the original installation image.

Another solution, as Dean recommended, is to set USEQUARTZFONT=0

Thank you so much! I was able to find this solution moments before you posted. I set this variable to 0 and it worked. Hopefully this won't be an issue in the future. Have a great day!

At the command prompt, type USEQUARTZFONT hit enter, then set the variable to 0 - just type 0 and enter. That should fix it.

Hi,

If you are using 2016 version of AutoCAD for Mac, then you need to install Update 4 from here :

This should resolve the issue described in this thread.

Patty, I use AutoCAD 2018 for Windows.

I tried the command USERQUARTZFONT, but i get a "unknown command" message.

Maxim, I use AutoCAD 2018 for Windows, but I've been searching for this issue and this was the only helpful post I found about it. Does this fix works only for AutoCAD for Mac?

By the way, this issue only occurs when I batch plot a set. If I print individual sheets, they print normal!
