Good morning, This is a general question. I always have problems with the tables feature for auto CADD mac. I do need to upgrade, I'm still 2023. That's another story.

I have "googled it" and looked thorugh YouTube. If you can direct me to a excellent one, that would be most kind.

Thanks from Florida

Hi Tricia,

Can you provide more details?

None of it. I would like to create a header for Trees and then another one for Shrubs. It only allows me to do columns. I'd like to creat different types of headers etc.

I keep trying to have capitalize, bold, etc. It's  really difficult. I would like to change the size of the columns and rows... that's a challenge. For a brief time, I did auto CADD on a PC and it would let me upload a table from an excell program. Will MAC CADD allow it? I can't figure it out. I'll be even more honest - the landscape arch program for auto cadd class was a bit of joke. We skimmed over some basic functions and then the professor told us to go look it up on YouTube. I can only guess because they were paid much and didn't really care.

I have had to haphazardly learn mac cadd. Any suggestions??

@Summertimelandscapedesign Forgive me the dumb question, but any chance you looked in HELP in the program to get you that linking option to an Excel spreadsheet?

https://help.autodesk.com/view/ACDMAC/2027/ENU/?guid=GUID-5E118F6D-D19C-4B59-8E54-53016B4F8AB8#:~:te...

and/or online in a search

HTH

PS: AUTOCADMAC versions are not as robust or feature-full as Windows versions. HELP inside the program is your friend to identify those changes.

Yes, I've been through the "help" menus and etc.  Most articles are for pc not mac. I think sometimes they must be skipping steps or

not telling us all the boxes to check because - it just doesn't work??

Share links to what you found that is hard to follow when you get a chance.

FYI, if you are hoping for a plethora of MAC-specific large amounts of tutorial videos online, they do not exist due to the exceptionally small target AutoCAD4MAC audience that most content creators don't wish to expend any effort towards for obviously reasons (fewer clicks = fewer revenue opportunities).

Note that in my earlier reply I provided you with a link in HELP to get started, I'll update it here for 2023 if you could not do that, article is still the same https://help.autodesk.com/view/ACDMAC/2023/ENU/?guid=GUID-5E118F6D-D19C-4B59-8E54-53016B4F8AB8#:~:te...

No, not yet. I haven't had a chance to reply - I 'm going to do a video and show what's holding me up with the tables etc. this week.

I'm going to do a video this week and show what I'm trying to accomplish and what's not working. I think too... I'm copying a table over from a PC CADD user and it just

doesn't translate into my LT MAC CADD

What does "copying over" mean? And translate? If your destination file has a different definition of the named table style from the source file it will look very different.

Same if the originating table was full of FIELDs to specific objects in that file, they would not automagically appears when copied over to a new file.

What happens if you just OPEN the source file in your LTMAC, does it look correct?

Sorry for the delay. When I set up a planting schedule in paper space, I want to use the table function. I need two different types of headers. One at the top and others down the rows but all I seem to be able to do is data cells. Also I can't seem to set the indention for it   i.e.    center, left, right

Also I guess I must set up all of the rows at the beginning otherwise it goes to the right if I stretch it. Correct?

Do I have to set the font every single time I tab to the next cell? I'm wasting lots of time changing the fonts in all of the cells

from the default one.

Thanks! Tricia

I've attached a few screen shots.

Hello Tricia,

I'll try to be brief.

>>>>I need two different types of headers. One at the top and others down the rows but all I seem to be able to do is data cells.

2026-06-04_21-56-13.png

1/ Select table rows you want to make Title (you call it header)

2/ On the Properties Palette select Row Style dropdown

3/ Select Title - you will see the result - all cells in the row are merged now

OR, if I misunderstood you:

Select row you want to make Header and change Row Style to Header on the Properties Palette

>>>>>Also I can't seem to set the indention for it   i.e.    center, left, right

2026-06-04_21-58-29.png

1/ Select a cell or range of cells

2/ On the Properties Palette select alignment type

>>>>>Also I guess I must set up all of the rows at the beginning otherwise it goes to the right if I stretch it.

2026-06-04_22-06-45.png

With table selected uncheck "Enabled" for Table breaks on the Properties Palette

>>>>> Do I have to set the font every single time I tab to the next cell? I'm wasting lots of time changing the fonts in all of the cells

from the default one.

Select Text Style and other text properties you need for all types of the cells - Data, Header, Tittle:

Max, I'd still love to have you do a YouTube channel for just AutoCADD MAC. I'd be happy to contribute for the landscape architecture. At my program at FIU for LA, the teaching was just random and haphazard - I feel like to I need to just start over and learn from scratch. Another good topic for here would be X-ref documents and package and send. Lately, when I package a file or receive one - the paperspace portion is missing. Just a thought.
