STB Plot Styles do not display (Mac)

I have seen a few posts about this issue but I think this one is slightly different.

I am trying to use an STB which is a modified version of the Autodesk supplied Autodesk-Mono.stb, where all the screening styles are set to Grayscale instead of BLACK.

If I set my drawing to use the unmodified Autodesk-Mono.stb, all the styles in the STB file are available in the menu drop-downs wherever I look (Layers Palette, Properties palette etc.).  If I switch to my Autodesk-Grayscale.stb, only Normal, ByBlock and ByLayer style are available.

I have used this STB file before successfully, but have upgraded to Autocad LT 2017, perhaps this is related.

if anyone would care to try out my STB file, it is attached.  I have recreated it from scratch, and the problem persisted so I don't think it is a file corruption issue. (I have add .TXT to the file extension to .TXT so that it can be uploaded, it will need to be removed so that it is just .stb before use).

I am taking a look at this right now but for some reason my 2017 keeps crashing when I try to access your STB. I am going to do some things on my side to see if it is me or the file. I will adda post shortly. Thanks for your patience.

Hi @KeithSWD,

I brought your STB file into both AutoCAD LT and AutoCAD 2017 for Mac. I renamed it so as to not have any confusion with existing plot styles.

I then applied the plot style and was then able to grab the various styles in the layer properties manager.

That always means AutoCAD is not recognizing your STB's content so it gives you those default.

2017 for Mac seems to be a problem child at the moment: it probably should have stayed in the oven a little longer to bake fully. Any chance you can roll back to 2016 for mac? Nothing is wrong with your STB, I see all of your percentage styles in it just fine on the WIndows side of the world, and it works fine there too.

I've been beta testing the full version of 2017 for Mac and haven't had this issue before.  I still have that versions on my iMac, so will have to print from that until the license dies and hope LT is fixed by then.

Don't really want to uninstall and roll back but I might have to if I can't get this working.

Hi,

Your STB file works on my system without any modifications. I just renamed it in order it not to conflict with the name of the default STB file.

I attached renamed file (zip archive - you need to decompress it).

This is interesting.  The file you attached works on my system. However, it is a copy of the Autodesk-Mono.stb;  all the screening styles are set to BLACK and then have their %age screen values. I must have attached the wrong file to my post.

My original problem file had all the screening styles set to 'Use Object Color' and Grayscale ticked, and then their %age screen values.

After setting my drawing to use your file, I then edited it so that all the % screening styles and SOLID were set to Object Colour and Grayscale, and now it is working.

It looks identical to my original STB file which still doesn't work, except for the filename. Hard to believe that could be the issue. But I have a working STB now, thank you.
